Hi Everyone,

Here's a list of fun things I've found that are going on in the Sarasota - Bradenton - Venice area this weekend:



FEB 9 - 20

Florida State Fair -- More than 80 rides, lots of entertainment (including a circus), lots of fair food such as dill pickle lemonade & Cuban funnel cakes, exhibits, livestock & more. Tampa Fairgrounds.

FEB 10 - MARCH 5

Circus Sarasota Big Top Performances -- Circus Sarasota is our resident hometown circus, celebrating it's 25th anniversary this year. Annual professional performances by both young & adult performers are showcased in a one-ring big top tent. Circus Sarasota is acclaimed around the globe for world-class artistry and entertainment. THURSDAY - SATURDAY

Palm Grove Amish Quilt & Craft Show -- home made quilts and other items. Thurs & Fri 8 am - 5 pm, Sat 8 am - noon. $3/person. Palm Grove Mennonite Church, 1087 Beneva Rd, Sarasota.



FRIDAY

Free Music Friday Night Concert -- free concert at the gazebo in Venice's Centennial Park, 7 - 9 pm, bring lawn chairs.



FRIDAY - SATURDAY

Sarasota Shell Show -- displays, crafts, vendors, rare shells. 10 am - 5 pm, Potter Building at the Sarasota county fairgrounds. $5/adult, $2.50/ ages 12 - 18, under age 12 gets in free.



FRIDAY - SUNDAY

Gem, Jewelry & Bead Show -- Sarasota's Municipal Auditorium, 10 am - 5 pm, $5/person.



SATURDAY

Sarasota Farmers Market -- downtown at Lemon & Main, 7 am - 1 pm.

Central Sarasota Farmers Market -- corner Proctor & Beneva, 8 am - 1 pm.

Bradenton Farmers Market -- on Old Main Street (400 12th St W), 9 am - 2 pm.

Venice Farmers Market -- at the City Hall, 401 W Venice Ave, 8 am - 1 pm.
Summer Hours: 8 am - noon.

Live Music at Lakewood Ranch Waterside Place -- runs 6 - 9 pm.

Bradenton Area River Regatta -- Power Boat racing on the Manatee River, lots of fun activities along the waterfront on both the Bradenton & Palmetto sides of the river. 8 am - 10 pm. Free admission. Food vendors, craft vendors, live performances, kids zone, big light show over the river at the end of festivities.

Main Street Live -- big street celebration on old Main Street in downtown Bradenton, 5 - 11 pm. Food trucks, vendors, live music, kids activities.

National Guitar Day Jam Session -- Sarasota"s Bay Front Park, 11 am - 1 pm, free admission.

Brunch & Big Cats -- fundraiser by Big Cat Habitat of Sarasota. Brunch, mimosa bar & yoga with tigers, 10 am - noon, $75/person.

UTC Fit -- free outdoor fitness workout event, 9:30 - 10:30 am, The Green at University Town Center Mall.

Sarasota Cars & Coffee at UTC -- informal car show & coffee, 8 - 10 am, 295 N. Cattlemen Rd.

Super Hero 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run -- dress up as super heroes & participate. Registration fees required. 8:30 - 11:30 am, Nathan Benderson Park, Sarasota.

St Pete: Sunshine City Smokeout -- competition for the best BBQ ribs, pork & sausages. Live music. noon - 9 pm, tickets $10 - $90, Spa Beach Park at The Pier.



SATURDAY & SUNDAY

Sarasota Open Air Fine Arts Show -- artisans from all over participate. Free admission, $5/parking, 10 am - 5 pm, Phillippi Estate Park, Sarasota.

Downtown Sarasota Festival of the Arts -- one of the larger artisans shows in the area. Main Street from Orange to Links, 10 am - 5 pm.



SUNDAY

Lakewood Ranch Farmers Market -- Waterside Place, 10 am - 2 pm.

The Meadows Farmers Market -- At the Meadows shopping village off Honore, 10 am - 2 pm.

Siesta Key Drum Circle -- at Siesta Key beach every Sunday about an hour before sunset.

Polo at Lakewood Ranch -- Polo match 1 - 3:30 pm, various ticket prices.

The Ski-A-Rees Water Ski Show -- free show, starts 2 pm, 1602 Ken Thompson Pkwy by Mote.

Sundays at the Bay -- free performance by various artists at The Oval on the Bay, 4 - 5:30 pm.

Micro Wrestling -- show at the El Sombrero, 1330 NE US 301 in Palmetto, 6 - 8 pm, $20/person.



VALENTINE'S DAY

Say I Do all over again, vow renewal ceremonies -- Nokomis Beach, Siesta Key Beach. Opens at 4:30 pm, starts 5 pm. $25/couple if register at event.
