There have been a number of negative posts, or posts very critical of how Sarasota is developing. I am not there year-round, but I have seen quite a change, at least in traffic and expenses, in the past 8 years.

Which makes me wonder...

If not Sarasota, or if you were looking to move to another area of FL (or feel free to comment outside of FL), where would you move?

A quick google came up with Cape Coral and I was like...hurricanes?? And Naples with their median age of 120 years old.

Hurricanes can hit anywhere in Florida. Cape Coral's about built out, with more high rises planned. Naples, same thing.

Sarasota is still my top choice in Florida. If not there, Palm Beach County would be my second choice. After that, probably northern Pinellas County or Broward.

Please note that all the people complaining about Sarasota are still here. Even if they say it has been horrible for eight years.

They just don't want you here.

Watch what they do, not what they say.

Would type a longer post, but I am off to the beach.

It's also worth mentioning that most of those posts are by one person under multiple names. This has been going on for years.

Unfortunately, this has turned this forum into a lot of worthless $hi+ to sift through. The said individual thinks he should have the state all to himself!!

I think Facebook has better feedback but it is what it is > the internet fortunately or unfortunately. I'd rely on many sources for opinions and accept the fact that everyone may express something that you don't agree with. That shouldn't be much of a surprise, it shouldn't be taken personally it seems to us. You darn shouldn't lose sleep or agonize of it as long as somebody is attacking you on a personal basis. That's not right or acceptable. It's not worth getting flustered over different points of view. Go get some fresh air! it's Florida !
