I am moving to Sarasota (Lakewood Ranch) from Cleveland in late July and I am beyond pumped as moving to Florida has been a dream of mine forever. I spend my entire day basically on the internet researching the area or watching Youtube videos on it. I used to check this forum alot and am aware it has been infiltrated by trolls and such. I saw a post recently referencing other forums people frequent and wondering if anyone could DM these to me so can I look into them. I can confirm I am also not the dude who creates additional user names to troll everyone, haha. Also, no need for any replies telling me not to move here b/c traffic, gators, bugs, red tide, cost of living etc. There is snow on the ground here in Mid March, nothing is worse than that

Lakewood Ranch's official website has a section called "Let's Get Social" with links to their facebook and instagram accounts. That site actually is a great reference source for all things LWR. https://lakewoodranch.com/

They also have this site: https://mylwr.com/159/LWR-Community-Activities for info on activities. The resident orientation link has some good stuff as well.

I remember when Lakewood Ranch was in the planning stages, all woods and cow pastures. University Parkway was a 2 lane road called County Line Rd and it ended at I-75. No commercial businesses, very few homes, mainly orange groves along County Line Rd from I-75 to US41. There was a flashing yellow light at the intersection with Lockwood Ridge Rd to let people know to turn south to go into Sarasota.

you might get some tidbits of info on TripAdvisor, but it's geared to lookers and visitors. It can be entertaining though and sometimes informative
