Can anyone tell me about the neighborhood called Holiday Harbor in the 34231 zip code? What are the homes like, any amenities nearby, is it walkable? Thanks!

It's a small west of the trail community with a mix of homes. Some large newer homes that sit on the bay, with a mix of much older smaller homes. Some of the homes are not well kept, maybe elderly owned or in short sale? Hard to say. Not really much to walk, it's very small, and own of the roads splits off as a private road. Some small shopping centers dot the area, mostly furniture stores, a second hand, a bakery etc. Upon each entrance to the community you will pass either office buildings or a huge furniture store and offices behind that. There is a small marina that is finally being revitalized so lot's of construction equipment and it is taking years to complete, possibly economic obstacles. There is a old restaurant called the Waterfront that you can access via water or land but it's quite old and I wouldn't recommend it as I have never had that great of a meal there. You would be only a few minutes driving to the mall or beach. It's not really a neighborhood I would recommend at all if you have kids, not much of a neighborhood to walk or ride bikes, it loops right back around to Highway 41. I looked at and liked a home there when I was pregnant during the boom, but am so glad I didn't buy in there. Now if your looking at something down the private road, that would be a different story.

Thanks for the info, I will be in the Sarasota area at the end of March to check out the neighborhoods I have found online. The homes look good online but Google Earth can't replace a visit to check it out in person. I can't wait!
