Can anyone tell me of new town homes being built in the Sarasota area? We're looking for something in the 200-250 range. Want something kind of classy, not "apartmenty looking". thanks!

Villagewalk in Palmer Ranch is pretty nice. You should be able to find something in there in that range.

Are they building there? What about Stonehaven? Any opinion?

You mean Stonehaven up by I-75 & Clark Rd? I'm not real familiar with development other than I believe it was but by Centex and I don't think there are too many units in there. I think most of the units are 1000, 1400 or 1800 sq ft -roughly. I believe it has a community pool, rec building and playground.

VW is lightyears nicer than Stonehaven. Stonehaven sits right on the main drag off I75 and IMHO looks to me like more of a rental community. It is well kept and nice looking, but I would look at VW if you are looking for something "classy". You may also want to check out Botanica in Palmer Ranch as well.

Thanks! We saw Sonoma. Only 2 left there, though there are some resales already. San Michele is sold out. Went to Isles at Palmer Ranch today. Has that not been mentioned for a reason? Will check out Botanica and Arielle, but how new are they?

Maybe 5 years old give or take? Not quite sure. Isles is very nice, It is also built by DiVosta like VW. It is not gated, and does not have all the amenities that VW has, but that also makes it for affordable for you. I would check both out, all that I have mentioned if there are units available, they are all located very close to one another if you are out for a visit. You might also want to look at the villas in VW & The Isles.

Hi,
I have been 'lurking' on the this forum for a while,
my wife and I recently bought in Savannah Preserve off university parkway (not a townhome but a very nice upscale condo). We looked at the Isles but the HOA's ($419 for the condo vs $250 at Savannah Preserve) were a little more than we were looking for. The amenities aren't quite what the Isles have but we were only looking for a pool anyway. They aren't 90% sold so your financing choices will be limited but it might be worth a look for you.
