Guess I was thinking within the city limits. Unincorporated Chatham and the other municipalities are so separate (or more accurately separatist, the little varmints), though I did quote the metro population.

Question for you: An old Tompkins grad I met -- we're all old Savannah-Chatham HS grads now, though extremely hot for our age (I sure am) -- told me that Tompkins High had closed. What's the story? Reopened as a vo-tech?

Yes. It's very highly regarded. They have some great programs over there.

I would choose Tallahassee or Gainesville over those 2 places which is 4 miles from Ga and has no State income tax. It is 30 miles from the gulf. Those towns are better than
Valdosta would be a culture shock . But you will probably come to regret all of those choices due to the severe unrelenting heat, humidity and bugs.

I spent 7 weeks in Valdosta waaaaay back in the summer between junior and senior year of high school. I remember the humidity was oppressive and you could smell the water. It had a noticeable chemical odor and tasted awful. I spent lots of change in the soda machines that summer.
