A man on Tybee went to grab a snake by the head to pull it out of the edge of his pool. He had done this a few times before to harmless snakes. This time, however, he failed to see that it was a rattlesnake before it bit him on the hand. Ouch.
I will be a bit more cautious around here from now on.

He's lucky he didn't loose the hand.

That's Dr. Nettles, nice man. I can't believe he actually tried to take himself to the hospital without calling 911 at first! I'm glad he's okay.

I'd heard before that about more snakes this year on Tybee looking for water. Has this been a problem before? I've never heard of it.

I know there are poisonous snakes in GA because my son is a hiker and sees them all the time, especially around water. I think I'll try to educate myself so I know what they look like.

We are moving to Savannah from Phoenix. We thought we would be done with rattlesnakes! I don't suppose you have scorions too do you?
