LOL at the image of PADGETT trying to keep the "brats" from being devoured by alligators! How old are they now Padgett?

I was there two Christmases ago at the Waycross entrance. I was a little disappointed as the fires had burnt the tower and a lot of the boardwalk, so we couldn't climb up and see the vast swamp. We also could not take the canoe ride as the water level was too low. It might be different now.

I love Oke, and yeah the Folkston entrance is the best. I live nearby so we used to go up from time to time just to drive through. Last time I was there, a few months ago, they hadn't even begun to rebuild the boardwalk or the tower. It was right before Christmas, and we took my daughter and her family there.

I do recommend taking the boat tour. Call ahead and see when the best time is to see the alligators. We saw about 20 or so when we first took the tour.

And yes - bug spray! Alligators, I'm not so worried about. It's those gnats that will carry you away!
