If we let the market dictate everything savannah might become a boring sprawl city like every other city. Now I am not a zealot, free markets are usually good, I just think smart planning and historic preservation make Savannah a neat city. Now green roofs are a good thing for many reasons. Someday far in the future it will be the norm anyway. I just think SCAD students would like it as an amenity and pay for it and so I think the market would probably merit it. Or maybe not, just an idea.

yea they are rich yupsters. that also buy stuff and eat at local restaurants a lot. and make cool art and give it a prog vibe. how was savannah before SCAD? Probably less fun. All city planning things are tradeoffs and for me I like Savannah how it is now (except crime.) I hope the city stays small, centralized, historic, lots of trees, no high rises. My 2 cents.
