Bill Dawer's column in Sunday's SMN. Lots of good stuff in here. Unusually upbeat and positive for Bill.

A very positive article indeed. Like Bill, I can't wait to see the outcome of all these infill developments and what more is to come. So exciting!

I have to agree with Bill's article, it's exciting to see all of the changes that are happening in downtown Savannah and the surrounding neighborhoods. I'm really looking forward however to the new arena getting under way on the westside. BTW, when is construction suppose to start on that anyway.

Good article. Infill is good use of space. Vacant lots become eyesores anyway usually.

I was just noticing yesterday how much in-fill is taking place downtown. The new Embassy Suites on West Oglethorpe, new student housing on West Bay, new townhouse construction on numerous lots south of Broughton and east of Abercorn.

I'm constantly amazed at how much denser and built-up the City Market area is. Ten years ago, before the newspaper moved, those were all empty parking lots -- and Ellis Square was a dumpy parking garage. Several empty blocks on Bay Street are now hotels. The Bohemian ate up a huge gap and ugly eyesore on River Street.

The list goes on and on ...
