Will be visiting Savannah area over same weekend as the Tybee pirate fest.... what can y'all tell me about it? I've been to Tybee before.... parking seemed limited (it is an island afterall....): where does everybody park for the Fest? is it worth price of admission to hear some good music or is it just a bunch of costumed drunks out in the street? it's just me and my g-friend.... no kids stuff needed. hope to eat at the Crab Shack again while in town. thanks for any advice.

I have never been to Pirate Fest. As a rule, I tend to avoid Tybee during holidays and special events for the same reasons you stated: Lack of parking and heavy traffic. Plus, the police are notorious for setting up road blocks during such events to try and catch drunks, etc.

I'd recommend just staying in Savannah. The spillover from Tybee will be enough to satisfy your pirate craving.

I agree. Stay away from Tybee during any event because of lack of parking. Go to the Pirate's House for a meal and get your "Arrgh" on there.
You can get to the Crab Shack without getting into the Pirate Fest congestion.
