Pros/cons of each area? How much of a headache is flood insurance? Big difference between a property that is an X, A, AE, etc?

Thank you, SavannahLife. Would you let a property's flood status dissuade you from purchasing it? Does it play a role in property taxes or have other significant financial implications?

For me not really I am in the 31419 and we don't have to have flood insurance but go down the road and you do.

Thank you, Bellhead. I was reading the other link about moving to Savannah and noticed that you had lived in Cincinnati? My husband and I are from Cincinnati and are now living outside Louisville, KY. Can I ask what your impressions of Savannah are compared to a Louisville or Cincinnati? We are still quite a few years from retirement, but are hoping to purchase a place in the next couple of years. We've vacationed in Savannah for years, but are now trying to really nail down details before we do anything more permanent or long term.

We are in 31419 and don't have flood insurance. I'm a Civil Engineer, so I wouldn't want anything that says anything about flooding. But others see it as subsidized living. You can go to the FEMA store and put in your address to see if your in a flood zone.
