Hey everyone, I'm desperately missing Costco (moving from Atlanta), and I just can't do sam's club anymore. My membership is ending soon, and I need to start a new Costco membership again. I know Charleston and Jacksonville is two hours away, and they both have a Costco. Which one is better/less crowded/easier to get to from I-95/I-16?

Which one is closer? I personally wouldn't drive two hours anywhere to save a few bucks at a warehouse store. That doesn't make much sense.

Just FYI a Costco was announced for Savannah on East President Street and then canceled, which was a good because the location was terrible. Wouldn't be surprised if they build one in Pooler soon.

Well it would be a once a month sort of thing, and driving two hours is no big problem for me, as I need to make the trip to a bigger city anyways for decent Asian grocery. And plus, Costco carries many items that Sam's doesn't.

Best place would be to tear down the shopping center on Abercorn and Montgomery with the kmart in it. Put a Costco in there.

And then, of course, there is this development planned for Bluffton, which appears will feature a Costco among several other stores. Another notable tenant missing from the SAV/HHI area, but proposed in this development is Nordstrom Rack.

Okatie Crossing - Horne Properties, Inc.

Montgomery or Montgomery Cross Road? The shopping center at Abercorn, White Bluff and Montgomery Cross Road still has its K-Mart, last time I was there -- plus the supermarket and other shops. They are a social anchor for that lower-income neighborhood (more middle class when I grew up there) and are very much needed. If you mean Abercorn and Montgomery Street, that's still a neighborhood that needs commerce for folks with modest incomes. A Costco doesn't help at all, and creating commercial deserts in such neighborhoods just isn't right.

Costco requires a large footprint and generates a lot of traffic and is best suited for a site on one of the interstates.

I prefer the ride to Charleston. I like Charleston a lot better, make it a day trip.

Costco in the city proper, reserve the interstate for the next Amazon Facility so we can get same day delivery.
