Family, neighbors mourn loss of Savannah mother of 2 shot, killed on Ash Street | SavannahNow

Headline says it all, not involved in the drug trade at all, gunned down in front of her home. I don't have a lot of sympathy for the drug dealers as they know being killed is all part of the game and life style. This looks like a robbery of chance gone bad.

^^^I know that block as I have (2) people that work for me that live in that area. Bad area to stay the least. Just 1.1 miles away a friend of mine is buying a house costing $250,000 ( Habersham and 54th). Savannah is truly a block by block situation as far as gangs go.

Random acts of violence are very rare, even in this city. It's odd and disturbing that two mothers (with a total of 7 now motherless kids) have been shot and killed in Savannah in the past 2 weeks. But it would be even odder if these were random acts against innocent women caught "in the wrong place at the wrong time." Other than a missing cell phone, there was no mention of robbery in the most recent incident. And one the news reports last night said she'd "been having problems." And the "hard working mother of 5" was killed in a hail of bullets from 60 shots fired.

I'm not sure which is the better reality: That these women were involved in something shady that we don't yet know about, their killers were known acquaintances and perhaps the killings domestic ... or that they were indeed truly shot down in cold blood for no good reason? Any of those scenarios is unexceptable.

16-year-old arrested in murder of Savannah mother | SavannahNow

The 16-year old is looking at spending the majority of his life behind bars. I can only he hope he has not reproduced yet and will never be given the chance.

But WHY? What was the motive? They still haven't said. Robbery? Revenge? Gang initiation? Pure Evil?

I heard yesterday it was a hit, and it was a case of mistaken identity. Close to 70 shell casings found at the scene.

Killer was a horrible shot as you can tell and might be reason for mistaken ID. The axehole needed a lobotomy AND glasses.

The fact that police made an arrest so quick, and while serving a warrant, suggests that PEOPLE TALKED! Courageous informants stepping up and "ratting" the thugs out is the only way we are gonna beat this thing.
