I went to the beach to see it rise over the horizon, but it isn't the spine-tingling event people make it out to be. More of a curiosity, and of course another excuse to go to the beach.

I went to San Antonio Texas on a three day business trip a week ago. Never have experienced a city that draws the amount of tourists that by far , ( make that very far) ,exceeds what we experience here in Savannah. Awe and shock to say the least. I wish we had a "River Walk"!

What do you call River Street?
IME once you've done River Walk and the Alamo, you're done with San Antonio.

Aside from a few other things (barring museums and the Alamo of course) like zoos and theme parks (which you can do in select other cities), you're right.

I do love San Antonio though.

What do you call it? Certainly not "River Walk". BTW this is not you say I say, OP posted so as to get some dialog going on the board. I responded but not to start a thread on San Antonio. Enuf said.

I was reacting to your "wish" that Savannah had something like San Antonio's Riverwalk. River Street seemed to me an obvious comparison; not many cities have what these two cities have, which is a pedestrian-friendly promenade with entertainment along the river.

The front page report on the ferry ramp collapse was the worst. It it about a fireman dying? Is it about a dock collapsing? Which dock was it? Why did it collapse? Who is in charge of inspecting it? We are left with only more questions.

Yesterday in Pooler, we got a notice that we had to sign for a package at the post office, "tomorrow after 8:30 am."
As you may know, the Pooler PO is in transition while a new building is being finished. All yesterday's packages are at the old building, which is not open to the public. At 9:30 this morning, the package was not yet at the transitional location. WHY? I don't understand why the packages from yesterday couldn't have been driven less than a mile down the road before 8:30 am.
My answer is, nobody gives a flying flip about being efficient anymore.

So what's in the package?
