It sure is. I am in love with Florida but I have now changed my mind and in about 10 years I hope we can move to the Savannah area.

Interesting article projecting Savannah to be in the top 15 hardest cities for layoffs in the US.

cool story. Except they did. There is always a pandemic. Just like a flood. You plan for it. Or you're incompetent. And, they briefed POTUS in January about this one specifically. And also, it's simple. Billionaires are going to get bailed out by me. And you. Unless you are a billionaire. Something tells me you aren't. Also how about that insider stock selling from Burr and the others (on both sides). Anyway I actually have plenty of background in resource economics. This is another case of socialism for the rich, capitalism for everyone else. And also an externality. Thanks though for trying though.

Speaking of Ebola... What the hell would we be facing if this thing was more like Ebola and less like Pneumonia? Think about that for a minute, if you dare.
If you care to see how the CDC and FDA bungled the COVID-19 test roll-out, this article explains it:

https://www.theverge.com/2020/3/17/2...dc-techonology

Here's a synopsis: The CDC got Germany's test kit specs early on, & that test was proving to be effective in Germany. BUT, the CDC decided to not use the Germans' specs, and decided to come up with their own instead. Bad call. Then the CDC developed 2 test faulty kits that were defective. The 3rd try worked, but we lost weeks on the bad call not to just use Germany's, and testing and determining the CDC kits were bad.

Then, after the 3rd try was a charm, the FDA was slow to approve the roll-out because nobody there had the guts to make a out-of-the-box or on-the-fly decision where no prior rules existed. More lost time due to gov't beauracracy and order following mentality at both agency's.

As Trump said, the system that was in place when he took office, wasn't built for a Pandemic, and had a intrinsic bottleneck built in that had not work arounds in place. It was this a poorly designed system.

The system requires someone in the oval office who isn't an idiot.

It stands to reason that the most tourist heavy areas will be the hardest hit. You reap what you sow.
Will we bounce back...definitely.

While there is a good bit in the Stimulus Bill I strongly disagree with, I am thankful unemployment benefits have been made available to freelancers. My husband is a self-employed Audio Engineer who is hired to work large events/conferences all over the country. Not only are there no jobs currently (understandably) but the 4 jobs that had been confirmed had to cancel. An optimistic expectation of him returning to work might be July. We have saved for when work is slow but this extra will help us last a little longer keep the bills current.

I hope everyone reading this is healthy and doing the best they can with social distancing and staying sheltered in place!

Americans know Trump is the right guy to lead our economy back to where it was before this terrible pandemic.

Thanks for trying though. Please don't put all your stock in the senile old man. It won't end well.

I am not a huge fan or anything, so much as I can see patterns. Bush created a recession by giving away trillions to a few hundred people. It didn't trickle down. Also, the sending our kids to war because Cheney could profit thing, which cost lives as well as money. Anyway, Obama got us through it. Like FDR before him. And Clinton after Reagan/Bush. Or Biden after Trump. Cutting taxes while increasing spending, the Republican playbook, is not a recipe for success. Especially for the middle class. Just like at what Republicans have done to the deficit. Do you want to have a real discussion about history and economics? (we can geek out..) Fox News gets people worked up over someone in a trailer getting a free phone and their viewers lose their mind. Halliburton gets billions, literally while having Cheney on payroll, and crickets. I just don't get it. #1 News Channel according to them, and then it's all about the 'mainstream media attacking etcetc..' .. logic?? Or how about Trump wanting to bail himself out. (if he was concerned about his employees he has the funds to cover them, if he really is so rich and the best and biggest etc etc) Anyway this seems quasi off topic but it's all related. People like Trump cut researchers and professionals who keep us safe and keep the country running. Because government is really just a bunch of people, that do stuff that needs to get done, and wouldn't get done otherwise. There is no such thing as a free lunch. You want a good country well pay for it. Meanwhile cruise lines flying foreign flags that don't pay in, expect us to bail them out. And really, that was my favorite thing about President Obama. He was actually real middle of the road, fair, honest, good family values guy. Sure he wasn't perfect but he also admitted it. Really miss him.

Biggest thing in short run is keeping health care workers safe and serving as many patients as possible.

Here’s the thing, though. We pay taxes, and the money gets wasted and squandered on special interests and pork. Now, the money is going back to people who really need it, fast and immediate. Of course it will take its toll on the treasury, and the economy, but we will deal with it, after everyone is back on even keel.

If I liked the president before, I like him even more now.

Does anyone else worry about the bad people who hate us, using this time to take advantage? I doubt if there is much corona virus in the mountains of Afghanistan, Iraq or Iran.
