Will be visiting Savannah for 4 nights next month. What's a must try restaurant for dinner (either in the city or by Tybee)? I prefer steak, seafood & Italian, and am not a very adventurous eater.

Thanks!

There are too many choices to name, and if you look back at old threads, it’s been covered many times. For a plain food eater, you can’t go wrong with The Pirates House, Garibaldis for Italian, or really any of 100 places downtown and on River St.

A few other places we like are Crystal Beer Parlor, Huc a Poos (Tybee, dive bar with fabulous pizza), BMatthews, Green Truck Pub, Traylor Park. Public Kitchen, the Vault

Paula Deens, if you’re into buffets, but unless you just want to say you've been there, or have never had fried chicken or macaroni and cheese before, I’d skip it. But if you’re a plain meat and potatoes guy, you might like it.

For some inexplicable reason, reasonable fresh seafood is hard to come by here, except for shrimp, shrimp, and more shrimp.

Thanks for your recommendations! As for your statement about seafood, it reminds me of a visit to a grocer near Cape Cod. Thought for sure Maine lobster would be plentiful while visiting New England, yet the store listed them as being from Canada!

I know! I just got back from MA and RI and managed 1 lobster roll, but lobster is so expensive now, the natives aren’t even buying it.
