I am really confused as to why I cant find the sales tax for Georgia. I don't know if its just me or what- but I have been googling for what seems like hours.
I am moving to Savannah from Los Angeles and currently its changing to 9.25%, and I want to compare tax rates.

Does anyone know?
And is this a massive federal conspiracy?

Thanks!

4% State and various local options that vary by county Either 6 or 7% total
7% in Chatham County but the state legislature is in session and we could get some more.............

But not exempt from the 3% in local option taxes. Go figure.

7% non-food items.
3% food items.
That's here on The Island.

Right! I forgot about the State Tax on food. Another thing that you should be aware of is that some of the Local Option taxes are only temporary and will expire soon. You can bet that they will be replaced by something similar. It seems that we always need something built!
