Just spent a few hours with yet another "maybe transplant".
In real life.
Not on this here bored.
She seems to like our town.
Hopefully she will decide to relocate down heah.
My question:
Does anybody really go out of their way?
To actually meet somebody?
Or is it all behind the keyboard?
I been posting on this here bored since 05/08.
And I've yet to meet any of the other posters?
Except for the ones I've made a concious effort to meet.
Y'all like to act sooo friendly, but I wonder.

I have a real life and real friends. In general, I don't meet online friends until I can verify their references. That means I could meet you Al, since you've pretty much passed your background check, but I don't have time to do so.

I understand what you're saying.
And maybe I came across a little grumpy.
But it's not like we all live in different parts of the country.
And it would be nice to see who we are really talking to.

Yeah, I guess. But strangely, I'm digging folks with whom I've got something in common: similar interests, mutual friends, etc. Why would I want to spend my real life leisure time with gun totin', excessively paranoid, ignorant, angry, unhappy...

Al, you're cool and so are several other folks I've gotten to know here, but there are a lot of people I can do without.

ditto what Ellie said.

It's easy to confuse polite, tactful conversation and information as an attempt to be friends. There is a big difference. Friends are interested in each other. It's not a one-way street.

Al, you lost me when you told how you "always pack heat." I may have some friends that do that, but they don't broadcast that information. So, I am not aware of it. I think people that carry guns when they don't have to, are scary.

Aside to Padgett:
Someday I'll tell you the story about why I did carry for a while down heah.
And that pocket piece went back to it's owner.
