It seems like there's only one way to get anywhere, and its a long trip on top of that. Is there anyway to get around town without going through downtown or somewhere else with a few dozen redlights?

Mall, restaurants, movie theater

Is the movie theater on Victory I think the only one in town?

There are several movie theaters in town. The one on Victory is an old one.

As for getting around, if you insist on being so vague no one will be able to help you. There is almost always more than one way to get someplace, except for Tybee or Skidaway Island where you really only have one way on and one way off.

There are four major streets that go from one side of the city to the other, Victory Drive, Derenne, Eisenhower and Montgomery Cross Roads. There are also cross streets that link those four.

You never have to go downtown if you don't want to. Get yourself a city map and learn all the different ways to get from one place to another.

Look in the telephone book for a listing of the movie theaters.

I'd be more specific if I knew more about the place. From what I've seen the normal restaurants and fast food places in town are around the mall without the Bass Pro Shop. I'll have to drive around the mall more if you say there are theaters there because the one on Victory and one on Eisenhower which looks even more rundown are the only ones I've found. Well aside from the SCAD one downtown, but downtown Savannah looks like it'd be fairly dangerous after dark. Plus there's nowhere to park unless you want to shell out some money and walk through the squares.

I'm on Whitemarsh if that helps any. Victory is nearby but even getting to the theater I go through half a dozen or a dozen red lights. I've trekked out to Montgomery Crossroads and Eisenhower I think, but they have the same red light problem as Victory plus I have to go down Victory to get there.

Please forgive me for asking different questions from everyone here. However, since I don't care how much diversity is here, and I can usually tell if I'm in a dangerous neighborhood by driving through it I don't have to ask the two most common questions on this board.

In regards to my previous questions it seems nunchucks are legal in Georgia since there's a store selling them in the mall with the Bass Pro Shop. There seem to be three comic book stores in town. The one downtown seems to be a porn store too so I haven't checked it out. The one on Eisenhower is okay but not that great. It seems really too small, has a poor selection of back issues, and management seems like they might be hard to deal with. The one on Montgomery Crossroads is dirty piles its new issues on top of old issues so you have a few months work of books piled on top of each other with the result that ones on top are getting bent from all the old issues behind it. I'm down to trying the one in Pooler this weekend. In any event on I can't get to any of them after work on Wednesdays before closing. This and the generally poor state of comic shops in Savannah is surprising given you can major in sequential art at SCAD. I can't imagine a comic shop in a city this size closing as early as the ones in Savannah do on Wednesdays. I still haven't decided which license plate to get, and it seems there are no major roads going from one side of town to the other without running into half a dozen or more red lights which makes going places a lot harder in Savannah than it is in most cities this size. If I hadn't found the baseball stadium during an expedition down Victory I would have asked here where the Sand Gnats played, but that'd probably be considered a wierd question here too.
