In a relatively new development a Russian firm has designed a new missile system, designated CLUB K, which can be hidden within any ordinary shipping container; meaning it can be installed on a train, a ship or a truck. However it is unlikely that the missiles could easily be launched from an ordinary truck etc...unless it was designed to withstand the "blast" effects from a contained launching vehicle or compartment.

This system is supposedly being sold on the international market to many buyers. The Pentagon states that they are aware of the CLUB K system and are quietly working on counter measures. The system is so new that most military experts are not even aware of it yet and surely this sounds like a James Bond movie type scenario come to fruition.

Here's a link with two videos...the weapon can also carry a nuclear warhead and there are 4 missiles per "container". .

There is also a 2 stage hypersonic version of this missile with capabilities that surpass our Harpoon or the French Exocet missile....according to many sources.

LOL......good one maybe it will be more reliable than Chinese products.
But let's hope not, since it is relatively "cheap" for this powerful of a missile system. Though the warhead is not very large; the hypersonic version hits it's target with 32 times the kinetic energy of our Harpoon missile.

Scary isn't it......our tax dollars at work defending our country. Our military needs to get a grip on priorities; since this weapon system is cheap, formidable and readily available to nearly anyone/any state with the money to pay the tab..

Isn't that the Russian way, make 'em cheap and lots of 'em??? In WW2 the German Leopard tank was vastly superior to the Russian T-34 but the sheer numbers of T-34's killed off the Leopard.

I just looked at the current defense spending and fell off the chair when I saw what the US spends compared to other countries. It looks like we spend more than the other 10 countries combined..... This is amazing..... I wonder what weapons platforms the US REALLY has in orbit....

Country Military expenditure, 2009
1 United States 663,255,000,000
2 China 98,800,000,000
3 United Kingdom 69,271,000,000
4 France 67,316,000,000
5 Russian Federation 61,000,000,000
6 Germany 48,022,000,000
7 Japan 46,859,000,000
8 Saudi Arabia 39,257,000,000
9 Italy 37,427,000,000
10 India 36,600,000,000
11 South Korea 27,130,000,000

The above is from:
