Is there any info on how they're communicating with it? Did they place a lunar satellite as well?

Yeah, and I'm a little annoyed that the U.S. didn't go there first. We've known about the scientific value of visiting the South Pole-Aitken Basin for years.

Would really like to see China or some other nation put humans on the moon. Then declare their intent to be the first to Mars. It would light a fire under nasa and US politicians.

Unfortunately no other nation is even close to having the technical capacity. Elon Musks Mars plans could be stalled by a couple of decades into the 2040s (currently planned for mid 2020s) and still no national space program, including nasa is likely to have returned humans to the moon, let alone Mars.

Looks like their plant seed experiment is starting to germinate. Did they include grow lights for when the Sun goes down, I wonder?
