15th ave crosses the lake washington ship canal at its western most (for cars) crossable point. I-5 crosses over the east side of lake union. Miles separate the two. Where are you starting and where do you need to go?

15th is a great alternative commuting from.Ballard and points north into the city. It's a no brainer from Magnolia.

From magnolia it should be no contest. 15th ave is right there. I-5 is MILES out of the way. Cross at 15th and get where you need to go from there.

Again, where are you trying to go exactly? I-5 is not anywhere near Magnolia.

You are the same guy that is going to NSCC, right? From Magnolia, you want to take 15th and cross the Ballard Bridge. Stay on it; it eventually becomes Holman Road at the Crownhill area; then Greenwood Avenue. Keep going, you will veer right slightly onto 105th; at Aurora/99, make a right, then shortly after around 97th I believe you will make a left. You will have to mapquest exactly from there and might have to take some turns, but the college is right around there, student parking mostly in the back and to the side of the main building.
