I was wondering if you all had any suggestions for apartment buildings in the Capitol Hill area. I'm looking for a modern building, preferably near Broadway in the area north of Cal Anderson Park. For the actual apartment, we're looking for a fairly open apartment with 1BR, 1-1.5BA with space for a study and living room (probably 1000-1400 square feet) and in unit washer/dryer + 1 parking spot. Our budget is $1800-2600/month and we're a couple in our mid-20s with no kids.

I would definitely appreciate any suggestions you all have for specific buildings and I'm happy to provide additional info!

Thousands of apartment buildings on Capital Hill. Can't help you on any particular one, you'll have to do that yourself.

With that price range, you should get a condo in Capitol Hill

We looked at Joule apartments and really liked them, several floor plans. They are smack dab on Broadway and a couple of blocks north of Cal Anderson park. Incredible location. There is also an apartment right in front of the park, I think called Broadway Building or something like that, it's pretty nice too, but doesn't have as much of a social feel as Joule. We haven't moved yet though so that's about the limit of my knowledge of that area.

Make sure you visit your potential choice at night before you rent; places on Capitol Hill can have noisy neighbors (bars, etc.).

@ForeverQuestioning: I took a look at Joule apartments a couple days ago and I agree that they look awesome, but they don't really have anything in the size range I'm looking at right now. I'm hoping something that one of the two bedroom apartments will open up soon since I still have some time until I'm moving (end of June). I'll have to go schedule a visit at the Broadway Building - looks good from the website.

@AlohaHuey: It hadn't crossed my mind to check it out at night - amazing suggestion! As much as I like bars, I definitely don't want to hear them at home!

@seaclairerun: Do you know of any particularly good places to look for condo rentals? I saw one or two on Craigslist that matched what I was looking for but weren't going to be available until August/September.

Thanks for the advice everybody!
