A few areas in Shoreline -
Richmond Beach- Nice, not insanely expensive. Pretty.
Richmond Village- Nice.
Where Shoreline borders Lake Forest Park, near Ballinger Way. Pretty nice, but I prefer nearby Lake Forest Park.
North City- Older, a bit run down, cheaper, not near the water. The Crest Theatre is near there, a discount house that shows three or four dollar movies.
For some reason, it seems that the area between Aurora and I-5 is a little less nice, and parts of Aurora itself are a bit seedy or at best lacking character.

I have lived in Richmond Beach and it was very safe and great for me while I was there. my uncle still lives there and raised his kids there and they went to school there. I have never heard neg. things and he had 6 kids. Innis Arden is very nice but is spendy.

Good luck.

Thanks so much Ira & molly!!! I will be there soon and will be checking those places out. Ive only been on hotpads to get a feel for rentals for the area. any suggestions on other resources? I will only have 5 days there to check it out and make arrangements so I want to be looking in the right direction and not spending my time finding were I don't want to be. Also need to take a few hours a day doing something fun since I will have my 14 yr old son with me, I'm sure he could care less about all this. explore the parks, hike, ect. ( pretty much the reason we want to move anyway, the desert is too hot and boring ) Thanks again!
