Hi folks,
As the skies get gray, my husband and baby and I are looking for affordable weekend or 3-day trips out of Seattle to get some sun. We are looking at places we can drive or fly to, spend 1-3 nights of hotel etc. for less than about $1000 total for all three of us. It's OK if it's cold, we just need sun before we all develop rickets. It would be nice if there were some activities suitable for a toddler involved.

Any suggestions?

You may have heard the Tri Cities commercials boasting about their 300+ days of sun. Not really familiar with winter temps or things to do there, though, for kids.

Tri-Cities

When the need for sun hits us - usually in December - cheap fares on Southwest or Alaska to southern California are something we look for.

Yes, the Tri-Cities are sunnier in the winter, but with the clear skies comes biting cold - often low's in the teens or lower

Bellevue Square. Great place to get makeup and mall clothes! Its never too early to start the toddler on a Nordstrom addiction.
