I wear a yakkay helmet and some people make fun of me but i think it looks good.

It feels like a helmet though. It just doesn't look like a helmet...

Very cool looking! I love it.

Yes, I hate how most bike helmets make you look like you burst through someone's stomach to fight Sigourney Weaver. They're just so weird looking.

ETA: I can't find a U.S. retailer for Yakkay. May I ask where you bought yours?

You're welcome! I love riding my bike on a flat path, too, but it's kinda hilly here! I got an electric bike for Christmas that has peddle-assist. I'll probably destroy the battery until I get used to the hills.

Amsterdam Bikes in LA carries Yakkay.

i bought my yakkay on ebay from a company in canada. it was a little cheaper than the local place in LA (when i lived there).

it does size a bit big though. i usually get a helmet in L and got a M for yakkay and that's better.

My wife, also ugly helmet-averse, got a simple, round, black Bell helmet for cheap.

However sigourney weaver in ghostbusters certainly would not have needed a helmet.

I was referring to the alien in "Alien." Bike helmets just remind me of that alien.

The Bern helmets are somewhat stylish, round with a little visor.

Amazon has the Bern Berkeley Bomber helmet with a visor for $28! It's usually $80, so I bought one. I've read a lot of good things about it, and it's supposed to be very comfortable. It's also cute! Just wanted to share in case socalmommie or others are in the market.
