The water taxi terminal is less than a mile from Safeco. I love the idea of it, too. If I ever move to West Seattle I think I'll spend more time downtown because of that water taxi.

I would imagine there is probably a bus faster than the water taxi, because the water taxi leaves from around Salty's (where to park down there? or take the bus there?) and goes to the Seattle waterfront, then you'd have to get to Safeco. There is probably a bus that drops you off pretty close to The Safe. Check here:
