I'm from LA and will be visiting Seattle in a few weeks. My niece just moved there. I've always enjoyed my visits to the Emerald City. Sure there's more to do in LA, but LA is a city of 4 million, with a greater metro population of nearly 18 million. I say let Seattle be Seattle. The city is beautiful. I love the space Needle, Pike Place Market, the Queen Anne Hill neighborhood, the impressive downtown skyline and majestic Puget Sound.

Of course I've never visited Seattle outside of summer months. Being an amateur photographer, I think I'd like to experience Seattle when it's grey and gloomy.

Summer (assuming good air quality!) is when you get grand vistas from the Space Needle or Kerry Park or Smith Tower.
Winter would be a time for dramamtic sun-low-in-the-sky views from the ferry boat, city scenes with reflections on shiny wet streets,
and compositions framed by mist / fog / clouds.
