WSU is a great school, especially in the areas it focuses. Not having a medical school holds it back in those worthless rankings.

WWU used to be a decent school, but their current wackjob racist President has been doing some damage up there.

It's not enough to have UW Seattle, UW Tacoma, and UW Bothell? And Evergreen and Western WA University in Bellingham (a really good school, btw)? Besides, where's the money supposed to come from? The state legislature has been cutting funding to UW for decades. It doesn't want to open any more state schools. Eastern Washington wouldn't be a bad idea, but who would pay for it?

Yeah, I went to WSU. Yes, it's very good in certain subjects. If you're not in those subjects, and you have even the slightest shred of intellectually curiosity and/or aren't a knuckle dragging frat boy neanderthal, you're in for a miserable time. If I have anything positive to say about my time there, it's that it sucked so badly that it spurred me to strike out and broaden my horizons far, far away from Pullman.

Yes, it would probably be more practical to strengthen the brand of an existing institution. Not that I could care less at this point.

... you're kidding, right? It's been opened a long, long time ago. It is also a pretty good school, great value for the money and is affiliated with a lot of the Seattle colleges.
