Kinda of surface question but I have no luck with these thing's. Are there many bat's in the area? I live in the country part of Jersey and there's a very big population of them here. I've been scratched by one and went through the series of injections for it so.Thanks

we have them out here in the woods but it's definitely not an epidemic or anything. Creatures that are a problem: Racoons and Spiders

The only bats I've seen are high up at dusk in summer. They don't swoop low like the ones in the midwest.

Racoons are scarier.

Yeah bats here swoop down rite next to you. It's almost like they want to get a look at you. I like racoon's, though they can be pretty destructive.

Default Spiders & Raccoons

Spiders aren't really a 'problem' in Western Washington, per se... there are just lots of them that find their way in to your house when the rains arrive in the fall. 99% of them are utterly harmless.

Raccoons are different though - they're smart, they're aggressive, and some of them are HUGE. I've gotten the chills seing some of them cross the street at night - some are easily 25-35 lbs, and they have gargantuan claws.

Hmmm. 100% of them are harmless here.(New Jersey) What is the 1% you do not speak of?

The barn where I used to keep my horse had a couple of bat houses, so sightings were a bit more frequent there. That was up above Woodinville. But they do live in the area.

The spiders are a problem for people who are afraid of spiders (I'm not, so I don't really care about them). My experience has been that you're more likely to find arachnids in your house and garage than not.

On the upside, biting/annoying insects like mosquitos and gnats are not a big problem in most places I've visited here (including within Seattle and its outlying suburbs -- maybe the spiders keep them away, although it's more likely that they choose to live in swampier climates).

But, since you ask about bats: nope, I haven't experienced or heard much about any bat problems here.
