We just moved to the Kirkland area from the East Coast. Our family is visiting for the first time. Being from Connecticut, they are already used to seeing tons of foliage, quaint neighborhoods, etc. We went to downtown Kirkland, but on a weekday afternoon, it was a little empty. They claim they are enjoying themselves, but I want them to fall in love with the area as I have

Where should I take them? Snoqualmie Falls? Any parks that you suggest? Sites to see? We will go to Pike Place Market soon.

Thank you

Would you go to Green Lake or Seward Park on a weather day like today? With a baby in tow?

Botanical Gardens and http://www.nws.usace.army.mil/Missio...ndenLocks.aspx

A morning ferry trip to Poulsbo / Port Townsend, and back at sunset / evening lights from Bremerton to SEA.

Remember... THEY will need to fall on love with it... you can't make them! Just give them the opportunities to find what THEY will enjoy.

Sunset at Golden Gate park eating Fish and Chips is nice too.
Movie / concert in the park?

Alder smoked Salmon? (Now is a great time to catch your own!)

Yes... our Babies did ALL that with us, as well as LONG International flights, and the next 15 yrs of homeschooling... together and doing lots of crazy things (and very little studying!)

Just be you, and let them enjoy you, family, and themselves (at their pace and choice)

Take them Orca watching in the San Juan Islands. The San Juan Islands are what made me fall in love with the PNW.

Show them what they don't have back home: Puget Sound. Some ideas:

Take the Mukilteo ferry to Whidbey Island, then the Coupeville ferry to Port Townsend. Return to Seattle via the Bainbridge ferry.

For great views of Puget Sound, visit Discovery Park.

Go to the cafe (upstairs) at Ray's Boathouse and eat on the outside deck, right on Puget Sound.

There are babies everywhere.

If you don't like wine, I also see babies in the Woodinville Breweries often. There's also a distillery that probably has babies in it often as well.
