Anything made with coconut milk, almond milk, or soy? I LOVE ice cream, but my son and I can not handle the regular stuff. Sherbet is o.k. though, although I have not seen sherbet in the ice cream shops.

Not that Ive found. But I am in love with Organic Valley lactose free milk. Awesome stuff. And I find that drinking milk removes any desire I had for ice cream. Milk sugar is actually far superior to sucrose because it contains no fructose. Lactose is glucose and galactose whereas sugar is glucose and fructose. And in lactose free milk, the lactose is pre split into glucose and galactose so as to avoid lactose intolerance issues.

If youre really set on a non dairy alternative, you could perhaps try Coconut Bliss. They make coconut milk ice creams that are very very very good (trust me). But Im hesitant to recommend them because based on current research you just shouldnt use products with added sugars. And Coconut Bliss has Agave syrup, which is actually higher in fructose than regular sugar. You can find them at Whole Foods/ PCC/ etc.

Most of the frozen yogurt shops (they're everywhere here!) have completely vegan options. My husband is usually able to get frozen yogurt with the rest of us, with great fresh toppings, which is nice.

Full Tilt always has a few vegan ice creams. And they're good. So if they're vegan, they're lactose free, right?
White Center, and Columbia City.

Molly Moon's has at least two vegan ice creams all the time, one sorbet and one coconut based one.

Shnoo at the Landing in Renton is an ice cream parlor that carries vegan gourmet ice cream from Full Tilt.

The ice cream is made with coconut milk. They have regular flavors like chocolate and strawberry but also artisanal like Thai Tea and lemon marshmallow. They change it up each week so call ahead to be sure the flavor you want is there.

You can also buy it by the pint at Met Market.
