Hey all,

Just curious if anyone is familiar with commuting from Puyallup to Bremerton? Is it viable? Is this an absurd question? :P

In all seriousness-- it looks like I will be working there and am just curious if this is even remotely possible without me losing my sanity. I am completely unfamiliar with the commute.

Thanks for any and all responses!

Have a great day--

Tripp

If you can leave Puyallup early and get out of Tacoma and over the Narrows Bridge before you hit too much traffic, it would be doable. Depending on your work hours, sounds like you might have a "reverse commute" a good portion of the way. This time calculator says 50 minutes without traffic, http://www.travelruler.com/driving-t.../Bremerton,+WA

Is there a reason you don't want to move? To Gig Harbor, Port Orchard, Bremerton, Silverdale, Poulsbo?

At 2 AM it'll be a 50 minute commute, and you'll need to pay a toll. Everyone's tolerance for commuting is different, but it would drive me nuts.

I often go the Narrows bridge to visit my parents in Port Angeles. Puyallup to 16 I don't know about, but the I5 area, 16 exit, bridge and rest of the way to Bremerton is nasty on weekday mornings, and worse in the evening, in both directions. It's doable, but would be a frustrating, long commute. I suggest trying it a time or two.

A few difficult exchanges there, plus the toll.

If you end up liking this job... you'll want to move.

You will find a huge back up near the base in Bremerton at start time, so I would seriously add at least 30 minutes to your commute time just to sit in base traffic. I would really only do the commute long enough to determine if I liked the job enough to move.
