Gotta say that I love your city! What a cool downtown. I had no idea how hilly it was until I got there.

And the food... I ate oysters everyday and I still want more.

In my short stay there (3 days) I was impressed with the overall educated people I interacted with. Down here in the South, it's night and day. 3 miles outside of Charlotte, you're dealing with a whole different class of people. VERY red state.

But I gotta say the coolest thing I experienced was the pot shops. I rarely smoke... haven't in two years. But I had to go check it out. I got an uber to take me to Sodo and I got a cool little disposable e-joint.

Just the neatest thing!

I told my wife that if I was in my 20s or early 30s, I'd love to live there.

Glad you had fun! Your name is App State, did you go to school there? My brother did, still lives in Boone, is assistant registrar for ASU. My parents also have a little cabin near Newland NC. I think if I had to live in NC, I'd want to live in Asheville, neat open minded vibe.

Yes... and just for the record, it's pronounce Apple-atch-in ;-)

As for Asheville, yes- it's the closest thing to the PNW you'll find in the south... until the summertime when all of the old blue hairs migrate from Florida.

It's a great town.

Glad you had a great time in Seattle. My husband and I are from right over the mountain. 20minutes from Johnson City...We use 421 to get to Boone and ironically we use 421 to go to Charlotte as well. I-26 for Asheville. We are planning to move to Seattle in a few months, I am sure Seattle would love more people in the city.

I hope you will come again soon.

See what I mean?! 😂😂😂 we are in Kingsport actually. Home to Eastman Chemcial Headquarters. Yes this is NASCAR country. As you can tell from previous posts we are trying to get the heck out of dodge ASAP!!! We know we will miss our family members but the employment rate is not that good and starting pay is joke even with qualifications. Let's be honest not a lot of diversity. So we are excited for the visit in April and the move in July God willing.

I hope you're not expecting any different in Seattle; it has the same problem but probably magnified 10-fold due to the cost of living and fact you REALLY need to be qualified in the hyper-competitive market to even get started at a crappy job.

just sayin...
