Just moved here, want to buy some good quality, good design, modern furniture, such as dining table and chairs. Which brands are popular here?

Crate and Barrel at Bellevue Square is pretty standard, they have Pottery Barn there as well. For lower cost furniture, Lynnwood has an assortment of discount furniture stores around 196th. For lower still, there's Craig's List.

Check out Dania for modern furniture. They have a showroom in downtown Seattle near belltown and totem lake in Kirkland. Their website has pics of their furniture.

Don Willis Furniture has some nice pieces for decent prices. They specialize in solid wood furniture. I think they are in Lake City, Ballard and Kent?

+1 for Dania. They have a pretty great selection in their Kirkland store.

+1 for both Dania and IKEA for furniture with clean and modern lines.... Dania for couches and chairs. IKEA for bookcases, tables and all your basic storage needs. Stay away from IKEA's couches... They basically suck.

We've gotten a couple of really neat pieces at Kasala, and I'm a fan of Dania as well. And never underestimate the power of Craigslist. Found my dining table there for $75 and it goes with my Dania chairs like they were made for each other.
