The average Seattle citizen works in the software industry, works 20 hours a day, lives on espresso and mountain dew, and doesn't require sleep.

Any mathematically fantasized "average" would not really have any useful instructive meaning, because sleep duration varies from individual to individual, as is true everywhere, depending upon genetics, lifestyle and preference.

To add to allforcats, people will tell you that they sleep more in the winter than they do in the summer in the PNW because of the weather.

Then where does the saying "Sleepless in Seattle" come from??? Has Seattle been telling lies to the rest of the country this whole time??? The rest of the country needs answers!!!!

Have you never seen the Meg Ryan-Tom Hanks movie of the same title, which had a meaning in the context of the movie's story?

Regarding the "lies" you mention, what on earth are you talking about?

I am talking about exactly that Sleepless in Seattle!!! Does Seattle have more cases of insomnia than other US cities??? Or is it just something that residents of Seattle would like the rest of us to believe??? All I want to know is if people in Seattle truly are sleepless.
