I moved to West Seattle last week and I have until April 15 to choose my new ACA (Obamacare) plan for it to start on May 1. I have completed the application and have narrowed it down to a couple of providers: Bridge Span and LifeWise. I'm a fan of naturopathic medicine and these plans are accepted by the clinic near me. That said, should I be checking these plans for hospital access also? If so, which ones? Any comments/feedback on BridgeSpan or LifeWise. (I have a call in to a broker listed on the exchange, whom I hope will help me.)

I have other choices, but the premiums are much higher. I'll be paying in the mid-200's but my income is really low as I'm retired.

I'm kind of lost in my decision since I'm so new and don't know anybody here. Thanks.

If under 65 and your "income is really low", you might qualify for expanded Medicaid. Medicaid here does cover naturopaths. Your premium and out-of-pocket would be zero. There is no asset-check for expanded Medicaid.

Here's a list of local naturopaths that take Medicaid:

I'm assuming that by "mid-200's" you're including any premium-subsidy you're eligible for through the Exchange. Regardless, you can't just look at premiums, but need to also consider protections on out-of-pocket expenses that you would be eligible for.

If 62 or older, you might qualify for subsidized senior housing. See:
