For the dates of june 14th through june 16th my friend from the LA,California area wants to visit me. I offered him my couch for free to sleep on for 2 nights at my northgate seattle apartment. My friend wants his privacy and i completely understand. The 2 hotels within walking distance of my apartment are the Hotel Nexus and Hampton Inn. Hampton Inn northgate wants $310 a night per night for those dates. Hotel Nexus wants $250 a night for his dates.

My friend will be relying on public transportation and not renting a car.

In my friends budget i did find the motel 6 in Kirkland, washington for $75 a night including a microwave and fridge in the room. When i first moved to seattle in june 2015 i staid at motel 6 in Kirkland and enjoyed it. The motel 6 in Kirkland is 100 times nicer than the hotel nexus in northgate.

Another hotel i found for my friend is the red lion in bellevue for $150 a night which is in his price range. Im very familiar with the bus lines between seattle and bellevue as well as between seattle and Kirkland. I take the bus 3 times a week between Northgate seattle and bellevue.

Does anyone else have any other recommendations for my friend??

I told him about the travellodge accross from University village in Seattle charging $90 a night but some bad reviews scare my friend.

Perhaps a hotel or motel near the Seatac airport. Look at the maps and find one close to Seatac station or Angel Lake station and take the light rail (Assuming he will mostly be doing stuff in Town). AirBnB is another possibility.

Airbnb? @75-120/nt, 3 nite minimum. Pay for 3, stay for 2. Should be plenty for midweek stays.
