We keep getting the same question over and over again, where should we rent/buy that is 30 minutes to Seattle, in a good neighborhood, low crime, great schools, etc., etc.,. There needs to be a permanent post that talks about the reality of Seattle traffic, that talks frankly about the property crime, the homeless situation and most importantly how expensive housing is.

Realtors can post about current market trends, commuters can post what time the Park & Rides are getting filled up and potential new residents can get a real time update on what they can expect.

Good idea. The CA forum could use something like that, too. It gets frequent inquiries from people who want to be on the coast, good weather, good schools, good neighborhood, 3 br. house, but for a low budget. Can't be done. Pie in the sky is expensive.

That's a great idea. How many times can people post how if you want lively look at Capitol Hill or hey you want diverse with an edgy in town feel well Columbia City is your place.

Awesome! Please save me two.

Actually the above is *completely* possible: on the beach in San Diego, no less!

Spoiler
...At a place called the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, via a last minute travel type of website. Oh: I only get that in three day increments.

Wow, are you kidding me, are people that clueless? I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but I figure by the time people discover C-D they should have stumbled upon how expensive CA is.

Plus Tijuana is next door. Tell me would you rather visit TJ for a day or Tacoma or Everett? Just paint the inside of your house light green if you miss trees.

Tacoma or Everett for sure. Tijuana is a pit. And cartel violence throughout Mexico is as bad as ever. Note: former San Diego resident; had several colleagues robbed in Tijuana, including by the federales, none of it publicly reported. We had to cancel all trips and outings after multiple roadside robberies, including guns to the head, of our friends and work colleagues.

Also knew about the murders occurring just outside Cancun and Cabo years before the recent reporting of extreme violence coming close to the tourist centers. Heard firsthand of decapitated bodies found in cars, and nope, none of it reported. Mexico does not want any of this reported; tourist dollars far more important than your safety. And you're going to hear even less about it now, as the cartels have killed off many journalists.

I think a trip to Tacoma Mall or Everett Mall will complete my life come to think of it. It's a cultural Mecca. ✌️
