All else being equal, would you rather live in Maple Valley or Seabeck? Why? How would you describe the culture of both of these places? Thank you for any input!

If retired, or able to work from home, and no kids, Seabeck. Beautiful place on the water, but only about 1,000 people, and one little store. With kids, Maple Valley, which has all of the amenities of a small city, good schools, and is scenic, with woods and Mountain View’s. I know one person in Seabeck, wouldn’t consider it to have a culture, too small.

Its like comparing apples and cucumbers. Two completely different things. I would live, work and raise a family in Maple Valley and would vacation in Seabeck.

That being said Seabeck is like 20min from Silverdale and 35min from Bremerton. Neither are big cities but there are jobs there and with the lower cost of living out on the peninsula it may be an attractive option if you could get a good paying job. It really is a beautiful area and there probably would not be much traffic heading into a different city for work.

A good paying job will be the biggest issue out there though.

Maple Valley in a landslide. Great community, good schools, decent access to "civilization" and excellent skiing at Crystal Mountain.
