Pretty much to bask in our happiness and laugh at the suffering of those still trapped there.

Thanks for caring DP. I'm not suffering, I love it here. I've felt the same way since I moved here in '89. You be happy where you are, I'll be happy where I am. A lot of people feel like I do, as hard as that is for you to believe. We don't need you to believe it though, really.

Lived in Seattle from 1981 to 2017. I miss the Asian cuisine, and my friends. Otherwise I'm incredibly happy about my move to the Midwest. What I don't miss: traffic congestion, drugged out homeles, ugly monolithic architecture, incessant rain. high COL, crowded everything everywhere! Life is so much better and sane now I only wish I'd left sooner.

The "excellent summery" parts are absolutely the best parts. ;-)

I love it here. I have lived in the PNW for 45 years, and I fully understand that it isn't for everyone, particularly Seattle proper.

What I don't get is the incessant need to get other folks to chime in about how much they hate it. If you couldn't stand it and moved away- good for you! I hope you love KC or Charleston or Austin or LA or wherever.

I travel a lot, and can totally see the appeal of all of the places people leave for, and get why they might not adjust to the gray winters or uniquely introspective people or the COL. Sometimes the incredible natural surroundings don't do anything for them - I equate it to those rare folks you meet who really aren't moved by ANY type of music. They exist.

Enjoy where you go. Make the best of it.
