LIC is a great choice. I was thinking somewhere close to NYC all along but with LIC they will have visibility. Everyone in the city will see their compound on the other side of the river. Splitting it up in DC makes sense given their issues with Orange Man's administration and the health insurance initiative they are working on. As usual Bezos makes a genius move and gets tax breaks from 2 cities where they already have a large presence. The smaller cities on the list were just a ruse the whole time to get more leverage from the real targets.

Seattle will still be #1 for Amazon for the foreseeable future IMO. They've invested enormous amounts of money here, and will want a return on their investments.

That being said, the split HQ could be a great thing. Ideally, it means less of the negative impacts that would result from having the entire HQ2 in one city (in those cities), and perhaps some much needed stablization/relief for growth/the housing market here.

Unforseen alternative to a single choice. But an entirely logical choice to have 3 hdqtrs. Corporate office doesn't need to be very large, perhaps under a thousand.
