Is it really true that most apartment buildings don’t have air conditioning? I love air conditioning. How could I relocate to Seattle knowing this? Help!

Only the newer buildings have AC, so if you need it you will have to find one like this, with a studio starting at $1,500, very reasonable for new with AC in Seattle. In nicer areas such as Ballard it would be more like $1,800 and up. Until last June, AC was not needed long enough to justify the expense, with 80F being rare, and short duration.

I need 3 bedrooms in the suburbs somewhere. Any suggestions? Why don’t places have ac?

Because it's (historically) not needed. It's not humid and most years we'll only have a 2-5 days where we hit or go above 90 degrees (though that is quickly changing).

How strange. Ac is always needed above 70 degrees.

I lived in Seattle for my first 30 years with no AC. Really only a few days where you need it. Just open up the windows, turn on the fan and you are golden!

Because the average summer high in Seattle is mid-70’s. Yes it can get hot for a day or two but wah wah!

Where are you from? The West Coast has never needed A/C, except for the inland parts, the desert areas, etc. Why would you need A/C in a zone where it's in the 60's and 70's most of the summer?

It's only because of recent climate change, that some new apartment buildings are including A/C.
