It is, but they will not build a flyover (which I agree should be done, as SR 18 going to turn into a major highway with the expansion they will be getting), instead they have opted for a diverging Diamond, which has proven successful at alleviating Traffic and accidents when implemented. Also not sure if this is just a temporary fix, or if this something that is designed as being a permanent fix? Construction begins next year and finishes in 2023 at a cost of $128,598

SR 18 will also be widened but no funding has been found yet, and there are a lot of environmental complications as well.

Also construction has started to extend SR 167 to I-5

another major expansion on the horizon is expanding SR 509 south to connect with I-5

that is expected, due to orographic lift, and is also backed up by observations, Issaquah gets about twice the amount of precipitation as Seattle.

For us, going up to 18 way up there is too far out of the way. When we go to Tacoma and south, we will take Front Street/Issaquah-Hobart Road, even pulling our 25' trailer. It's a very scenic winding road to 18, and from there to I5 south it's an easy drive.
