I am currently enrolled in EDD due to reduction of hours. I'm currently employed but wanted to get out of my lease to find a cheaper place. At first, the Property Manager said if u were impacted by COVID or have financial hardship, u can break the lease penalty free.... when i provided them my EDD but said it was Reduction in hours they said this does not qualify now and said i have to pay the two month penalty in my case.

Does this sound right? Is there any renter production related to COVID or EDD that i can use to push back?
