Alright… had enough of reading threads about heat, fires, homeless, drugs, etc. Yes, they’re all a thing. We haven’t had a Cascadia Subduction Zone thread for a while so I won’t complain about that, though that’s also a thing.

Someone tell me about the King County Fair in good old Enumclaw. I’ve lived in this fair city for four years and haven’t been. What sort of deep fried greatness can be expected, and what sort of rides might one find, if any? And are the rides the sort of kind that will separate the deep fried goods from one’s stomach, if you catch my drift .

Is it “worth it?” Had some non-hiking friends in town last weekend and we took them to Crystal Mountain (which I highly recommend to take visitors to, never disappoints). But we drove right past the fairgrounds. Thought it might be fun to check out.

I have no idea what it might be like now post-Covid, and it's been years since we went, but at that time I would consider it to be a little brother "wannabe" compared to the Washington State Fair in Puyallup or the Evergreen State Fair in Monroe. Smaller and fewer rides, entertainers that most people have never heard of. Still, a fun little fair if you are not up to fighting the crowds at the bigger ones. Typical fair food, Turkey legs, Scones, BBQ, grilled onions on burgers and the like. Nothing that would cause issues on the mild rides.
