Only go to Starbucks when I have gift cards that are given to me. I don't like paying $5-6 for a cup with 1/3 ice. Not worth it.

My bad. I was thinking Tully's when describing the bankruptcy mentioned above by me.

The Peets in Redmond is still open. Our preference is Dutch Bros., the problem being that they tend to be in lower rent areas. They only franchise to current employees, who obviously won't have a lot of money. We will go to them whenever we are in Renton, Puyallup, Federal Way, Marysville or Everett, and along the I5 corridor between here and Portland.

That's a good question. Starbucks owns Peets, so maybe they don't allow it to have a competitive presence in the city of S'bux's birth. I do like the Peet's outlets in CA, though I haven't tried their coffee. I stop in for tea, and to look at their ceramic items they have for sale: mugs, etc. Peet's certainly does provide a better ambience. Peet's was born in my hometown of Berkeley. It has a Berkeley vibe.

I don't know why people prefer Starbucks coffee. It's too strong for me. My theory is, that they deliberately serve more highly caffeinated coffee, to get people hooked on the caffeine level.

I was driving up I-5 in the middle of the night in Oregon and was while getting gas I heard the loudest party music ever.
We were not sure what it was.
Come to find out it was the crew at Dutch Bros. across the street kicking it.
I’ll have what they are having .

Well, that's one way to sell coffee! Def. a different approach from sterile, corporate Starbucks.

What do I think? I think the people of Seattle are getting what they vote for. They continue to vote the same people in, so they must be happy with what they are getting.

Their choice.

I’m cool with highly caffeinated coffee, in fact I prefer it.
I just have never been good with the Starbucks atmosphere.
I’ve even been corrected there for ordering an extra large coffee.
They told me “it’s a grande” .
