Thanks! I have friends in New Hampshire that complain about property taxes (similar to NY & CT), but I love spending time up there.

Mass has a really low sales tax rate at 6.5% and property taxes are less than half of what I am paying now in TX. will be taxed on state income tho. Gas is a little higher $3.75 gal. currently, but I don't commute, so it is kind of a wash. Entertainment is a big draw with The Berkshires.....lots of theatre, Tanglewood, Mass Moca, Williams College, Bard College, The Clark, Jacobs Pillow and I can get to NYC, Hartford easily and Boston, The Cape, Providence, Newport.

Lots to explore this fall! Always ready for an adventure! Thanks again for all the responses!

Good luck and enjoy your new home. You'd really be missing those entertainment options if you moved to an area with 500k housing in Western WA.
