The hospital I work for has at least a hundred RN positions available. If you want to work out here, you'll be able to find a job.

You might think about checking with some of the other hospitals out here and schedule some interviews with them while you are here. Bus transportation from the U District to First Hill is pretty easy with a transfer downtown. Look at Swedish Medical Center, Seattle, Washington | Swedish Medical Center / Seattle, http://www.virginiamason.org for the two hospitals on First Hill, near downtown. (Harborview is also here, but you're probably going to the same HR department that hires for them, Children's and UWMC.)

i just moved to seattle from kansas city and i get asked this question all the time. i just say i wanted something new. i love the water and mountains and seattle offers the best of both worlds. i think they just get excited that people find this area as great as they do. or they want to make sure you aren't going to come and try to change the culture. i don't know. but i have a friend from college who lives here and she's a former MN resident. she loves it!

Seattle's a great place for a 22 year old to live. Good luck with your interview.
